diff

diff compares files, line by line.

Usage

• diff [options] [files]

Options

• -s report when two files are the same
• -y, --side-by-side output in two columns
• -t expand tabs to spaces in the output
• -r recursively compare
• --no-dereference don't follow symbolic links
• -i, --ignore-case ignore case
• -E, --ignore-tab-expansion ignore differences due to tab expansion
• -b, --ignore-space-change ignore changes in amounts of white space
• -w, --ignore-all-space ignore all white space
• -B, --ignore-blank-lines ignore changes where lines are all blank
• -I, --ignore-matching-lines=RE ignore changes where all lines match the regular expression
• --strip-trailing-cr ignore line endings
