sha256sum

sha256sum computes, checks, and prints the SHA256 message digest.

Usage

• sha256sum [option] [file]

Options

With no file, or when the file provided is -, sha256sum reads the standard input.

• -c read SHA256 sums from the FILEs and check them

Verifying Checksums Options

• --quiet omit "OK" for verified files
• --status don't output anything , status code shows success
• -w warn about improperly formatted checksum lines
